AUCP OPENING & SCHOLARSHIP GRANTING CEREMONY

2009-2010

 

At 8:00am on October 3, 2009, at Vietnam News Building 116 – 120 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai St., Dist. 3, Center for International Education (CIE) – VNU-HCM formally celebrated theOpening Ceremony – academic year 2009-2010 for 220 students of Graduate and Undergraduate Cooperation Programs.

We honorly had the presence of Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia, Vice-President of Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Giao, President of Union of Science and Technology Association in Ho Chi Minh City, former Vice-President of Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City; Dr. Maria Di Stefano, Associate Provost of Truman State University; Mrs. Rachel Davis, International Admissions Coordinator, Truman State University; Mrs. Patricia, Press and Cultural Attaché, U.S Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Chris Breding, Vice-consul, U.S Consulte General in Ho Chi Minh City; Dr. Truong Quang Duoc, Vice-Rector of International University, Acting Director of Center for International Education-VNU-HCM; AUCP faculty, parents, students; and representatives from media agencies.

Center for International Education – VNU-HCM has granted 18 AUCP Scholarships to 7 outstanding graduate students and 11 undergraduate students with the total amount up to 523.765.000 VND.

Besides the Opening and Scholarship Granting Ceremony, Center for International Education – VNU-HCM also organized the Information Session for Undergraduate Cooperation Programs. Dr. Maria Di Stefano, from Truman State University, Missouri, U.S gave students a clear picture about studying in the U.S, especially at Truman State University, and Mr. Chris Breding,Vice-consul, U.S Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh introduced about the Visa interview application. Moreover, CIE alumni shared with students and parents the experience when learning at CIE and in the U.S.

Center for International Education – VNU-HCM is enrolling for American Undergraduate Cooperation Programs – Intake 9 for 2+2 and 3+1 programs; and AUT Cooperation Program 1+2 – Intake 2; Deadline for Application is Oct. 31, 2009.
