INFORMATION SESSION

GRADUATE COOPERATION PROGRAM 1+1 – INTAKE 18

At 6:30pm on Sep. 25, 2009, Center for International Education (CIE) – VNU-HCM formally organized the Information Session for Graduate Cooperation Program 1+1 – Intake 18 at Center for International Education ( 146 Bis Nguyen Van Thu St., Dist. 1, HCMC).

We honorly had the presence of Dr.Nguyen Duc Nghia, Vice-President of Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Giao, President of Union of Science and Technology Association in Ho Chi Minh City, former Vice-President of Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City; Dr. Truong Quang Duoc, Vice-Rector of International University, Acting Director of Center for International Education-VNU-HCM; representatives from media agencies; students and parents.

Graduate Cooperation Program 1+1 is the transfer program jointly conducted by Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh and accredited public universities in the U.S such as University of Houston, University of Houston – Clear Lake, Texas; University of Missouri –St. Louis, Truman State University, Missouri; and 12 public universities in Oklahoma state like University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University and University of Central Oklahoma, etc. The academic curriculum, teaching materials, teaching methods and student assessment are adopted from the U.S universities. Moreover, the medium of instruction is English, and the faculty meets international standards. Students will study 1 year in Vietnam and complete their Master’s program for 1-1.5 years in the U.S.

Officially begun on July 14, 2000,Graduate Cooperation Program 1+1 has been training 17 intakes with more than 520 students; among which 368 students already transferred to universities in the U.S and Australia. Out of this number, 141 were granted scholarships by U.S universities with the total amount up to USD 1,508,356. Moreover, CIE also granted scholarships to 59 students for their excellent performance in the first stage at CIE with the amount of USD 61,036.
