On June 20, 2009, at 9:00am, Center for International Education (CIE) – VNUHCM formally announced the certificate of merit from The Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. We honourly had the presence of Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia – Vice Director of VNU-HCM; Mr. Le Trung Hieu – Staff Manager of VNU-HCM; Mr. Huynh Van Sau – Union President of VNU-HCM; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Giao – President of Union of Science and Technology Association in HCMC; Dr. Truong Quang Duoc – Vice Rector of International University, Acting Director of Center for International Education; Department Leaders of VNU-HCM; and representatives of media agencies.

Center for International Education (CIE) – VNUHCM was established on February 22, 2001 under the Decision number 38/DHQG/TCCB, signed by VNU-HCM President. Its main function is to operate international training programs jointly developed by VNU-HCM and prestigious foreign universities. The mission of CIE are to become a leading institute for international education and a creditable partner to regional and international universities and to pay a great distribution in providing opportunities for excellence in study and research through quality in teaching, curriculum, and service.

For over 8 years, with closely guidence of Board of Directors of VNUHCM, enthusiastic support of Departments of VNUHCM, constant effort of CIE Board of Director and staff, CIE has provided high quality learning environment to students in Ho Chi Minh city as well as through out the country. CIE has earned great achievements: nearly 1000 students have been studying at CIE, among which over 600 students transferred to universities in U.S, Australia, New Zealand,..Especially, out of this number, 208 students got scholarships of American universities with total amount up USD 2.572.000.

With constant efforts, CIE Board of Director and staff have received the certificate of merit in successfully completing the mission in the period of 2001 – 2006, in excellent performance in foreign relation task in the academic year 2004-2005, granted by Board of Director of VNUHCM. Moreover, Minister of Ministry of Education and Training Nguyen Thien Nhan has rewarded in successful mission completion in the academic year 2006-2007. Distinguishly, CIE – VNUHCM had the honour of a certificate of merit from the prime minister Nguyen Tan Dung for great achievements in education and training task from the academic year 2005-2006 to the academic year 2007-2008.
